Connect, learn, and innovate with aviation training leaders—exploring EBT, CBTA, AI, and best practices for safer operations.
Join airline training leaders, regulators, and industry experts to exchange best practices in EBT and CBTA implementation. Gain insights into the latest IATA guidance, AI applications in airline training, resilience development, and performance management. Learn from real-world airline experiences, benchmark your training programs, and build valuable connections across the aviation community—all while exploring practical solutions to enhance training effectiveness, competency development, and operational safety.
Featured speakers from EVA Air, Asiana Airlines, and Japan Airlines will share their practical experience in implementing Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA). Captains and training leaders responsible for EBT programs and training standards will discuss the development of training syllabi, competency assessment frameworks, grading methodologies, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement strategies. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how leading airlines design, assess, and enhance pilot training programs to improve training effectiveness and operational safety.

Welcome to 2026 Asia Airlines EBT/CBTA Symposium. Join us at the Basement Floor (BF) of Taoyuan Monarch Skyline Hotel.

EVA Air and Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) will give an opening speech.

Introduce the latest IATA EBT Implementation Guide, including mixed EBT, Enhanced EBT program , the new competency framework, etc. Consist of 30 minutes of keynote presentation, followed by open floor Q&A.

This topic explores the continuous optimization of Evidence-Based Training (EBT) programs by transitioning from baseline curriculums to data-driven frameworks. It focuses on collecting and analyzing operational data from Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA), Training Data Analysis, and Training Criticality Surveys (TCS), while integrating internal flight incidents and accident reports as empirical evidence for training enhancement. Furthermore, the discussion examines the future-focused role of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in automating data analysis and driving systematic program improvements.

Features a keynote speech and structured Q&A by an ASIANA airline representative. The session focuses on leveraging data science and AI/LLM applications to advance aviation training. Key discussion topics include cybersecurity, AI-driven grading and Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR), personalized lesson planning, and the analysis of Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) data for predictive training models.

Features presentations by EVA, ANA, and Asiana representatives, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. It addresses introducing surprise and startle effects in simulator sessions, building pilot resilience through syllabus design, managing training topic frequency, and evaluating the overall effectiveness and grading criteria of such specialized training.

Presented by EVA and Asiana representatives, this session covers identifying pilot incompetency across EVAL, MT, and SBT phases. It addresses implementing structured remedial training and defining grading metrics, focusing on professional attitudes and behavioral assessments during airline pilot evaluations.
